Inter-Island Environment Meetings
The first Inter-Island Environment Meetings (or IIEM) took place on Guernsey in the Channel Islands 25 years ago. IIEM aims to bring together government bodies, NGOs, environmental managers and individuals from the Crown Dependencies, and beyond, to discuss the status of the environment and help plan for the future. Many successful conservation projects have resulted from discussions at IIEMs.
The 2025 meeting will take place on the Isle of Man, hosted by the Manx Wildlife Trust.

Jersey, 2024
The 2024 Inter-Island Environment Meeting was held in St. Helier, Jersey, from the 5th – 6th September 2024. The theme of the meeting was Delivering Science and Policy into Action

This year's IIEM 2021 theme is focusing on how we are ‘connected by biodiversity’ with emphasis on biological recording, conservation research, the application of citizen science, and demonstration of sharing technology, knowledge and expertise.

In the 20th anniversary year, the IIEM was a virtual only event due to the uncertainty of travel around the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alderney, 2019
The Wilder Islands Conference combined the annual Inter-Islands Environment Meeting with an additional day of
talks and discussions, welcoming contributions from the British Isles and Overseas Territories and the wider scientific community.

The National Trust for Jersey and the States of Jersey hosted the meeting on Thursday 20th and Friday 21st September 2018 at Crabbé Activity Centre supported by the Howard Davis Farm Trust and the Insurance Corporation. Read more
