The strategy sets out six goals to:
- reconnect people with nature;
- develop skills and talent;
- maximise opportunities for funding, partnerships, and collaboration;
- strengthen and implement management and regulatory frameworks;
- enhance environmental resilience; and
- champion the benefits of nature.
Consultations on the strategy began in 2023 and were extensive, involving governments, NGOs, researchers, and local communities across the UKOTs.
The resulting document provides a framework for biodiversity conservation across the territories and highlights priorities for research, management, and collaboration.
